THURSDAY PURSEDAY

When you’re just starting out, it’s no secret that your once-upon-a-time disposable income gets invested in your business. A lot of times I’ve taken birthday money & purchased software or fonts with it – even just skipped that step & straight up asked for it as a present. Well…this year I am going to be selfish. I’m referring to my birthday that’s coming up, of course! I want something for myself & here’s what I’ve got my eye on:

Oh beautiful Coach bag. You are so pretty. Your heavenly camel colored leather is a necessity for my Fall wardrobe. Happy birthday to me??

Whip It Up Over The Weekend | S’mores Baked Apple

What if………you could combine the best Fall treats into ONE dessert? That’d be awesome, right??

Enter the S’mores baked apple.

I saw this recipe on Cooking With My Kid via Foodgawker and it sounds and looks friggin delicious. I will definitely have to try this!

S’mores Baked Apple

Prep Time: 10 mins Cooking Time: 45 mins

1 granny smith or gala apple
1 s’mores treat (Available at Trader Joe’s) coarsely chopped
(alternatively use 1/2 graham cracker crumbled + 5 or 6 chocolate chips)
1 large marshmallow

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Core apple leaving the bottom intact. Peel 1/3 of the skin from the top of the apple. Stuff apple with the s’mores treat leaving room at the top to push a marshmallow in. Push one marshmallow into the apple and place standing up in a small baking dish. Pour some water into the bottom of the baking dish (about 1/2 inch) and bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender but not mushy. Split open and serve warm

Etsy Shop Love | OldNewAgain

I came across this etsy shop awhile ago & I just can’t get over how much I love this stuff! OldNewAgain’s shop is filled with whimsical, rustic, handmade items that are so adorable I can’t stand it. LOVE the cute little shelves with mason jars & wooden accents.

I’m a little partial to this sign…seeing as how my last name is Cook :)

They also carry 3ft & 1ft wooden letters that would be perfect to use at your wedding! You could put them on doors, stand them up in the yard, or hang them above your cake/dessert table. So charming!

There’s lots of other goodies in their shop so be sure to check it out – even little wooden states! :)

THURSDAY PURSEDAY

Today is a very special Thursday Purseday! We have the super chic, super fabulous, Alison Goodman as our guest blogger today! Sure I can pick out pretty things, but this girl actually KNOWS style. Maybe you’ve even seen her doing some guest spots on ABC15′s Sonoran Living Live! Here’s a little more about her & her pick:

As the shopaholic voice behind the Kierland Commons Facebook page, I’m so excited to be here! Absolutely crazy about this leopard print chain bag, courtesy of the always sophisticated Banana Republic. The most perfect way to carry your essentials, this mini cutie will add an extra oomph to any outfit, whether that ensemble is taking you out with the girls or on a dinner date with your man. And that old adage is so true: good things do come in small packages.

LOVE IT! Thank you so much, Alison!!

And the Winner Is…

This is the bridesmaid dress I chose! Tena & I headed to Twirl Boutique in Scottsdale this past weekend for the Amsale trunk show. The new dresses were AMAZING!! I loved all of the dresses from last time – but the new styles were even better! The most noticeable difference were those little chiffon flowers – so pretty! The actual color we’re getting is called Pacific, and it’s a gorgeous dark teal color – matches her save the dates!

10-10-10 Epic Ale aka Birthday Beer

How about that for a picture on a wedding blog?? Well here’s the reason – Stone Brewing Co. it releasing the 10-10-10 version of their ale this month, and as you know, that is my birthday! The idea is that the beer is aged in the bottle & it’s supposed to reach it’s max potential(?) sometime around 12-12-12. They have released a bottle every year since January 1, 2001 & you are supposed to get a brew from each year, then enjoy them in a “vertical” tasting. Wellllllllllll, I reserved my bottles & they will be consumed on 10-10-10 – BUT! – I am excited anway!

Epic, indeed.
